The Student Advocacy Office is an independent Office that reports to the Rector or the relevant Vice-Rector and was established by decision no. 23/9/17.1.2019 of the Senate of DUTh (Government Gazette 98 B’/24-01-2019) and continues to operate pursuant to the provisions of articles 461 par.2 and 130 of Law 4957/2022.
The mission of the Student Advocacy Office is:
- to mediate between students (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral candidates) and members of the teaching staff or administrative services of the Institution,
- to uphold legality within the framework of academic freedom,
- to deal with phenomena of maladministration and
- to safeguard the smooth operation of the Institution.
The responsibilities and the mediation procedure are described in detail in the relevant Regulation, which is part of the Internal Regulation of DUTh.
By decision of the Senate of DUTH, Professor of the Department of Law, Marika Giounis, was appointed Student Advocate.
